Monday Night Football: Carolina to cover versus Dallas

We went 4-0 on Sunday! Our NFL season to date record is now 12-4!The Panthers have been awful so far this year, but the Cowboys have not exactly looked like world beaters.Carolina +9.5 over Dallas The Panthers were horrible against the Eagles and played better against a decent Atlanta team. Dallas beat a HORRIBLE Tampa Bay team and then lost a tough game against their rival the NY Giants. So what do we make of these teams first two games? Well, we don’t think Carolina is as bad as they seem and we don’t think the Cowboys are any type of elite team. So who are we going with? We are taking Carolina +9.5 over the Cowboys for the following reasons. The Cowboys have no defense. So far they have been horrible on defense and have not put any type of consistent pressure on the QB, if that continues we see Dallas having a lot of trouble stopping Carolina. Tony Romo, while he has a big name, is really not a top notch NFL QB. Too many mistakes and the habit of turning the ball over at critical times. The Cowboy receivers lack big play ability and that will make it easier for the Panthers to focus on the Dallas running game. What we like about Carolina. The Panthers cannot be as bad as the first game against Philly suggested. Getting beat by eight on the road to the Falcons is not that big of a deal. Jake Delhomme needs to play better and we think he will. The underdog in this series is 7-2-1 ATS in the last 10. We will take the Panthers +9.5 against a very average Dallas Cowboy team. WE are 13-7 so far this NFL and NCAA Season with four more FREE games today!This week we think there are some very soft lines on favorites and we are going to jump all over them. Let’s start it off with the Denver Broncos. Denver -2 over Oakland When Shanahan was coaching the Broncos he loved to put the hurt on the Raiders, and that is not going to change with Josh McDaniels. The Broncos have been a surprise so far this year. Many people will say they have not played anyone yet this year and they might be partially right. It did take a miracle for them to beat the Bengals but they still beat them….and the Bengals are a solid team. The Broncos should be able to run the ball on the Raiders and do enough in the passing game to score 20 or more. The Broncos defense has been outstanding so far and we expect that to continue this week. The Raiders just don’t have enough of a passing game to threaten the Broncos defense. We look for an easy Denver win. Denver -2 over Oakland Baltimore -13 over Cleveland This is a game that should be a blowout. Last year we would not have taken the Ravens -13 against anyone. But this year the Ravens have a good offense to go along with a really tough defense. On top of that the Browns just can’t score much. This looks like a total domination type of game. Baltimore to win EASY and cover the -13 Green Bay -6.5 over St. Louis Wow! How is this spread only -6.5? Green Bay is one of the best teams in the NFC while the Rams could be the worse team in the NFL. Green Bay should do what they want on offense and be able to control the St. Louis offense. When lines appear this soft we start wondering if we are missing something…but with the Packers coming off a loss last week we think they will be focused and that is enough to see a blowout win here. Green Bay to dominate the Rams. NY Giants -6.5 over Tampa Bay Another puzzling line to us. The Giants are one of the best teams in football. Tampa Bay is one of the worse. This game is a lot like the Green Bay game. You wonder why this line is not much higher. We do not think the Giants will have a let down after their big win over the Cowboys last week and we do not think Tampa Bay having homefiled advantage is going to make a difference.
